Cheers (Beer Mug-updated pattern)

It may be a wee bit early for St. Paddy's Day, but it is never too early for green beer!

I have edited and updated my Cheers pattern and I also posted it on http://www.craftsy.com under jodcold.  Check it out! This is still a free pattern. Please feel free to create it and give as gifts or sell at local craft fairs. Do not sell my pattern or the hats online.

Red Heart Supersaver gray yarn (4 ply 100% acrylic) for the glass and handle H/8-5.00 mm hook or size needed to obtain correct gauge
Tapestry needle
GAUGE: 6 rounds = 4”
Pattern is written using standard US stitches.
Abbreviations:
ch = chain
sc = single crochet
hdc = half double crochet
magic circle/adjustable ring
* = repeat directions between * and * as many as indicated
( ) = number of stitches in each round
Instructions:
Do not join rounds. Mark the beginning of each round. Hat: White yarn 1. Magic circle, (ch 2 then work 8 sc into ring). Tighten. 2. 2 hdc in each sc around. (16) 3. *hdc in next hdc, 2 hdc in next hdc; repeat from * 7 more times (24) 4. *hdc in next 2hdc, 2 hdc in next hdc; repeat from * 7 more times (32) 5. *hdc in next 3 hdc, 2 hdc in next hdc; repeat from * 7 more times (40) 6. *hdc in next 4 hdc, 2 hdc in next hdc; repeat from * 7 more times (48) 7. *hdc in next 5 hdc, 2 hdc in next hdc; repeat from * 7 more times (56)
Switch to gold (or green) yarn 8. *hdc in next 6 hdc, 2 hdc in next hdc; repeat from * 7 more times (64) Rounds 9-20 hdc in each hdc around (be sure to mark rounds) (64)
Switch to gray yarn 21. sc in each hdc around, sl st to join gray. Cut yarn and weave in ends.
Foam down the side of hat: Use white. Sew a few rows back and forth (this yarn is very forgiving as it is so fluffy-just cover up the gold). I do this in the spot where the white is first connected to the gold/green. If you prefer you could crochet it (instead of sewing) on to the foam from the front of the hat (whichever is easiest for you).
Handle: Gray yarn.
Ch 24, turn, sc in each ch. Ch 2, hdc in each sc; repeat this 2 more times for a total of 3 hdc rows. Cut yarn, leaving a long tail for sewing the handle.
Fold the handle lengthwise and sew together. Sew it to side of hat as shown in photo.
NOTES: The white yarn is so fluffy that it is difficult to see the stitches (I had to tear it out and start over). This pattern is forgiving enough that if that white isn't exact it won't be a problem.
The shamrock is not my pattern and is not attached to the hat; I just used it to make the hat look festive. You can do an online search for crocheted shamrock if you want to make one.
Have fun with it!

Hooo's got a cute security blankie?

I wish these were around when my son was a baby! Maybe I'll have a grandkid or 2 to spoil someday (let's not make it too soon though!).

I tested this pattern and found it very easy; but time consuming (definitely not built in a day!).

Drinks on Me!

I tested these fun, tropical drink patterns and can't wait to make more!

Dead Mau 5 hat

This was a custom designed one of a kind hat. I did not write down the pattern and probably won’t make another. I was shown a hand drawn picture and created the hat from the picture. My son is a big fan of Dead Mau 5 and drew me a picture and asked me to make it. He loves the hat!

I used cardboard inside the ears to make them stand up without flopping over.

Slow down for my turtle!

I tested this pattern and found it easy and quick to make!

Football hat-slouchy

Love this football hat! My nephew enjoyed posing in it!

Here is the free pattern that I used to create it: http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/slouchy-football-hat

Pooh Bear

Here is a test pattern I did for Melissa. Check it out http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/pooh-bear.

Batman Hat

Just finished this batman hat. My nephew loves it! Fits pre-teen to adult.

Got the batman logo from http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/crocheted-batman-logo.

The hat is a basic half double crochet pattern and I designed my own yellow background for the logo (ch 20, then hdc around including foundation chain, until large enough to fit behind the bat).

Zombie Attack hat

I couldn't wait to make this hat; the eyes make me laugh! My inspiration for this pattern was found on Ravelry. http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/keeping-my-eye-on-you-zombie-beanie

Fancy Feast fishys

I love this pattern and it looks great in many colors! My next fish will be purple. I changed the eyes and added lips.

Find the original pattern here for free: http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/fancy-feast

Pocket Kitty

Here is a tiny kitty that is just too cute for words! I plan to make more in different colors. It is so tiny that it did hurt my hands a bit while making it; but the pattern was easy to follow.

This is a free pattern not designed by me; http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/pockitty

Splatter Bunny-The Zombies have arrived!

I just completed this pattern this morning. I made the legs longer to make my bunny sit better and I added an extra tooth.

I got this pattern from Ravelry, Kerstin Batz is the designer. Here is her link for the pattern. http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/splatterbunny

Feeling a bit crabby?

Arthur the Crab designed by Jessica Fishman (http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/arthur-the-crab).

I was lucky enough to test this pattern for Jessica; it is adorable! I designed my own eyes instead of using button eyes.

Anyone for Frisbee?

I saw this flying disc/frisbee at a chain store selling for $14.99 and I thought to myself  "I can make one of those"; so I did.

It flies really well!

The pattern is the same as the first several rows of the beer hat pattern (the one I made is 5.5 inches around); I am going to try to make a bigger one next time. I made it one row bigger than I wanted then I folded over the last row and sewed it (this makes it fly better).

The great thing about this is no one gets hurt when playing with it and you can play with it in the house or in water (I used 100% cotton yarn). When you get done playing, just fold it up and slip it in your pocket to take home. It was inexpensive to make and can be enjoyed by all!

I plan to make them in lots of different colors and sell them at local craft fairs. Enjoy!

You can find me at Ravelry!

Hi,

I am a crocheter and plan to post the items I make in this blog; and sometimes will post patterns if I design them myself.

My username at Ravelry is jodcold. You can see my crocheted projects there too.

I will do my best to give the designers credit here when I post a photo of what I have made.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Jody
Here is a photo of a test pattern that I did. It is a spiral kufi hat; the pattern was created by asmalina (see Ravelry). I love this pattern!

Cowboy Hat

This is a crocheted cowboy hat that my son requested I make. He was not happy that my horse got to try it on first!
